My name is Carolyn. I live in Chicago with my husband. We lived in Oakland, California for 4 years and now we’re back. That would explain all the California photos. I’ve recently taken up knitting while trying to fit in the other hobbies such as hiking, backpacking/camping, swing dancing, gardening… and visiting yarn stores.

Love your hiking photos, and needless to say, knitting. I am stuck going over every pattern I can find in my knitting collection looking for an easily decipherable sock pattern! EEEEEEEEK. I’m nearly to the heel on my first sock, any suggestions? Can’t seem to picture in my mind how the heel ends up connecting with the foot simply by reading the patterns! Help.
