one more thing then…

I guess there’s another hobby I forgot to mention. Swing dancing. Probably because it’s been SO LONG since we have been out dancing. Those other hobbies just took up too much time. One has to rest you know! Especially when you’re a homebody like me. I go to sleep early. I mean sheesh, some places don’t start dancing until almost 9pm. That’s like, an hour before my bedtime! But sometimes serendipity intervenes:

We took BART and MUNI over to SF to visit the new de Young museum. As we approached the museum I heard swing music. As we were walking through the park I remembered that Lindy in the Park happens on Sundays. Lo and behold, there they were! I was so excited! It was the most beautiful sunshiny day in Golden Gate Park. A perfect afternoon for dancing and being outside. It made me feel good. Then we visted the museum, saw the Arts & Crafts exhibit, waited forever in line to get a sammich, basked in the sunshine a bit more, and went home. But wait, I think I’m supposed to include knitting in here somewhere. Well, due to the SF Giants game (where Barry hit his 715th home run) and the Carnival festival, BART was packed. I brought a sock to knit, but there was nowhere to sit!! If Ron would’ve let me walk to the front of the platform to get on the first car, we would’ve had a seat. He always rolls his eyes at me when I want to sit in the front of the train, I don’t get it. On the way back, we got a seat in the first car. So here’s the sock (not much progress since the last picture of the sock, I know). I’m trying to maintain hobby equilibrium. At least I wrote a blog entry!!

Carolyn:Thanks for the idea of the headlamp. I am always the passenger in the motorhome (am a nervous wreck about driving a 28 foot, several thousand pound, motorized vehicle on the highway), and in the evening, I am at the mercy of the darkness. With a headlamp, I could work on product or read. I will have to search one out. Again, thank you.
